MEME!

I was tagged for a "7 Random Facts" meme by Liz, so here are the rules, and if I tag you next at the bottom, it's your turn...

Here are the rules: Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

1. I hate spiders, but really freak out when they just come up on me out of nowhere. I don't mind if they're nearby, I just want to be able to keep my eye on them. I think it's the ability to scurry around so fast that creeps me out the most.


2. I love to garden, and Bug and I built two raised garden beds in the backyard this spring. We've planted Roma and regular tomatoes, peppers, onions, salad greens, cantaloupes, cucumbers, squash and a watermelon. We're almost out of space and we haven't even planted the beans and the garlic yet.
   


3. Bug and I love to travel and see new places. We've been slacking off lately on adventures, but we'll soon be back out exploring new things.


4. I was very active in 4-H when I was in school, and among my many accomplishments, I was known as an extremely good poultry judger. That's right, I was a chicken judger. I also went to national competitions for several years. Big chicken geek... that's me.


5. I love making things. From quilts to cakes, and furniture to socks, I am a maker. I love trying to figure out what is necessary to creatively construct things and then try to make it. The most fun is the process and the tweaking along the way to the finished project.


6. My favorite comfort food is a Hot Brown. I try them every time I encounter one at a restaurant, just to see if they measure up to my favorite. most of the time they don, but that's okay, I know where to find the best. My choice for best Hot Brown goes to Ramsey's restaurant here in Lexington. It's pretty much a heart attack on a plate, being a open faced turkey and ham sandwich with bacon and tomato smothered in a cream gravy with a load of cheddar cheese on top, but I just can't pass it up.
