A New Look and a New Place (soon)!

A new day is here and Melissa and I will soon be heading west!

The new streamlined appearance of my blog handily accessorizes the appearance of our apartment. Everything that was not accompanying us to Oregon soon found itself in the belly of our Herbie, waiting to be wheeled to the curb.

This weekend, I get to attack my studio while Melissa is in Eugene looking for a nest for us.

I can't wait to see the cool place that she has found for us. My excitement is threatening to overwhelm me... I just might burst! I guess it's because I just want to be out of Lexington and seeing new places, people and things. I need something to recharge me. I'm burned out on college, yet I'm headed to graduate school. I want to make Great Art, but I don't know what that is yet. I need to find my voice, but I can't speak. My art is so deeply personal, but I am strangled from it if I stay here. I am forbidden to use my voice because I could hurt so many, yet I am the one who is hurt most of all by my silence.

Gah, how depressing... let me snap out of my reverie for a moment for some GOOD news.

Melissa got her driver's license yesterday! She passed with a score of 88. Yay for my little driver! I brought her a Boston Creme Pie later in the day to celebrate. She brought me breakfast this morning aftertrying out her new (not shackled to a over 21 driver) wheels.
I'm so proud of her!
